How to Calculate Marks Percentage?
Whether you are filling out an application for the LokSevaPortal Scholarships, Police Recruitment, or SSC, entering your exact aggregate percentage is crucial. A small mistake can lead to document verification rejection.
- The Formula:
(Total Marks Obtained ÷ Total Maximum Marks) × 100 - Standard Indian Grading: Generally, 60% and above is considered First Division (1st), 45% to 59% is Second Division (2nd), and 33% to 44% is Third Division (3rd).
- How to use this tool: Set the maximum marks per subject at the top (usually 100 or 50). Add your subject names and the marks you scored. The tool will automatically generate your aggregate percentage and division.

If a specific subject is out of 50 while others are out of 100, you can calculate your total manually and just use 2 rows in this calculator: Row 1 for "Total Scored" and Row 2 for "Total Out Of" (Set global max to 1 for this trick).
In most strict government exams (like IBPS or UPSC), rounding off is NOT allowed. 59.99% will be considered less than 60%. Always enter the exact percentage up to 2 decimal places.
Yes! Just add 5 or 6 subjects depending on your board (CBSE/State Board). Set the max marks to 100, and enter your scored marks. The tool will give you the exact percentage needed for college admissions.
