About the New Tax Regime (FY 2024-25)

The Government of India introduced revised tax slabs for the New Tax Regime in Budget 2024. The new regime is now the default option for all taxpayers. It offers lower tax rates but does not allow most deductions (like 80C, 80D, HRA) available in the old regime.

Key Highlights of the New Regime

Standard Deduction: A standard deduction of ₹75,000 is now applicable to salaried individuals and pensioners, raising the tax-free threshold.

Rebate under Section 87A: If your taxable income (after standard deduction) is ₹7,00,000 or less, you get a full rebate. This means a gross salary of up to ₹7,75,000 attracts zero tax.
